I enjoyed the Sparrow so much I decided to make another one. The one I already have was build by designer Lloyd Shales. I happen to have a kit on hand.
Wow, it’s pre-shaped! I will shoot some pictures of building it and report back.
I took a walk to the park to test out the Sparrow Catapult Glider (designed and built by Lloyd Shales).

I flew my old Squirrel too. This one is several years old as you can see by the numerous tissue repairs. 🙂
We also had the Chinese prefab catapult glider. We got it to fly by adding lots of reflex by bending the body quite a bit. Didn’t fly very well compared to the real genuine balsa flyer. I think a parachute would be simpler and work better.
I received these two experimental Squirrels from Lloyd Shales (designer of the Minnow).
They have a few different things including a wire hook for the rubber band, top covered wing, foam winglets, foam stabilizers and a few other differences. When I went to the CBC interview on Monday these are the actual Squirrels I brought.
