Dinkar sent me a note that the wood he has been trying is the jowar plant upper stem. It’s very straight and it looks like it has some potential.

Flying at a farm in India
Here are some pictures from Dinkar in India.
He mentioned “jowar grain wood”. I am waiting to find out what it is. It may be this.
It was fantastic day for me. I went to one of my relative’s farm. I
collected some children and made squirrel using domestic material
sitting under a tree… there was no table, I used large aluniniun plate
as a platform… children enjoy it for nearly 5 hours. They asked me some
questions, I tried to answer them.
DIY Propeller
Here’s a DIY propeller from Dinkar in India.
Here are the last night pictures of making a propeller. The raw materials that I have used are-two wooden spoons 5cm
each), empty ball-pen refill, metal wire, thread, fevicol & fevikwick etc. This time one of my friends Vasant who is also primary teacher, working in same district where am I, came and joined me. He is on holidays now living at Nanded i.e. nearly 100 km away from my town. But specially he visit me to take squirrel kit for his students. He will send me some pictures of his activities. Take care. –Dinkar
A report from India
Joy of sharing
I’ve been sending planes out to many places but lately I met Dinkar from India who is a very innovative and passionate teacher. He’s been very successful at sharing them with kids (and adults).
I’m finding this very inspiring since this was the original motive for the Squirrel project.
Sharing.
