Ottawa Public Library Crafts

During the march break I was invited to visit 9 locations of the Ottawa Public Library to make Squirrels and paper airplanes.

For one thing I was amazed by the scope of the library. So many amazing locations full of amazing services and amazing people.

I had a great time at every location.

Ottawa Radio Control Club

I was asked to do a presentation for the Ottawa Radio Controlled Club (ORCC). I did a short talk on my model plane business. I showed the unique construction techniques and features of the Squirrel. I actually made one during my presentation. I also showed how to make a cool paper airplane shaped like a circle.

Another successful Squirrel-O-Rama Social Event! We had nearly 20 people.

This social event proves to be a great way to meet interesting people. We get people from all walks of life and lots of new connections get made.

Squirrels for Beer Program

One tactic that has help me make refinements to the building instructions is to host various building sessions where I can observe people.

The beer methodology has worked. As you can see here I have recruited two of my unsuspecting friends into building Squirrels by enticing them with a beer.

The young lady was actually booked and we were sitting at the pub near the window when the gentlemen was walking buy. I invited him for a drink and presto! Instant testing subject! You can tell how much fun this session was. 🙂
