I find the security guard’s lack of reaction rather humourous. I came to demo the Squirrel to a group of about 40 people at city hall and I was there early enough to get a few flights in the lobby.

Simplest model airplane
The Squirrel is the easiest-to-build model airplane in its class (as you can see by the parts in the photo). After some more research it has been determined that only one winglet is needed. So that drops the parts list (and steps) down by one. It also makes the airplane look very different. Another big advantage is that it becomes a Squirrel Stacker. In the photo above you can see that I have managed to get 9 Squirrels into a box that is small enough to fit in my motorcycle trunk!
If anybody has any feedback on which side the winglet should be on, please drop us a line. We’ve flown a few prototypes with the winglet on the left and that seems to be working well.
Square Squirrel
How do you like this modification of the Squirrel? Test flights have been very promising, but it is too windy at present to really wind it up. 14 in. square wing, with 196 square in. of wing area. Add to that a weight of 25 grams, including rubber and the wing loading is a mere .127 grams/sq. in.

Darcy:
All 3 fly superbly. So much so, I am thinking about adding dethermalizers to keep them from flying away. All three have excellent weight-to-wing area ratios(below .3 grams/sq. in.) with the largest the best at .28 grams/sq. in. From smallest to largest, the wingspans are 10 in., 20 in. and 36 in., with weights of 10 grams, 24 grams and 50.8 grams respectively.
Once again, well done!
