Just got this update from Adam in Montreal. He made this cool Squirrel.
Apparently the weather in Montreal is getting nice! So I’m looking forward to some outdoor pictures and perhaps some video!
My new friend Dinkar in India sent some more pictures. He’s trying different materials to see what happens. I think this is very constructive since the children will learn to be resourceful. Actually I think this will work if it’s cut much thinner. It may need a spar for the wing.
Today i used thermo col wings to reduce weight of squirrel, but it
didn’t worked.Propellers that you used are not available in my
nearest town.We all eagerly waiting for parcel.
Dinkar Narwade is a primary school teacher in a small village in India. He has managed to get a Squirrel together from bamboo wood. He’s still working on the propeller. I just sent him a package so we can look forward to some more pictures and perhaps some video.
I just came across a Squirrel at Epic Creation Thingys…
Here’s what he said:
“This is the model plane i made with balsa wood, tissue paper, toothpicks, a rubber band and a propeller. I have to give the credit to Darcy Whyte for providing the design & instructions. It flies great and lasts for a long time. search squirrel model plane and go to the rubber-pwer website to make it. All dimensions are in inches. Sorry my posts are getting gayer and gayer, i am having less time to do this.”
